AO CMF Asia Pacific Starter Fellowship Program
The aim of this program is to familiarize fellows with indications, planning, techniques, and pitfalls of osteosynthesis, under guidance of AO experts. This applies to fractures as well as a variety of craniomaxillofacial (CMF) surgical procedures performed around the world by AO CMF surgeons. Program details are:
1) Program schedule
- Maximum eight-week fellowship at a recognized AO CMF Fellowship Centers in China, India, South Korea, or Thailand. Please check the centers’ details here.
- Participant is required to attend one AO CMF Management of Facial Trauma Course
2) Stipend
- AO CMF pays CHF 500 per week. With this stipend, the fellow should pay the course fee, airfare, visa expense, local accommodation, local transportation and all other personal expenses.
3) Criteria
- AO CMF membership (online enrollment here)
- Graduation from a training program in one of the CMF specialties
- Working in a country in the Asia Pacific region where AO CMF Management of Facial Trauma (MFT) courses are not regularly conducted (eg, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Maldives, Marshall Island, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam)

AO CMF Asia Pacific Young Surgeon Professional Development Program
This program is developed to provide financial support for young surgeons (senior trainees and less than two years of practice experience) in CMF surgery to participate in the educational activities (eg, lectures, workshops, discussions) in any of the approved AO CMF Fellowship Centers in Asia Pacific.
1) Program Schedule
- Maximum one- to two-week fellowship at one of recognized AO CMF Fellowship Centers in China, India, South Korea or Thailand. Please check centers’ details here.
- Participant is required to attend one AO CMF Management of Facial Trauma Course
2) Stipend
- AO CMF pays CHF 500 per week. With this stipend, the fellow should pay the course fee, airfare, visa expense, local accommodation, local transportation and all other personal expenses.
3) Criteria
- AO CMF membership (online enrollment here)
- Employment by a teaching institution is preferred
