AO CMF Community Development chair to be elected

The tenure of current AO CMF Community Development Chair Sabine Girod will draw to a close in June 2020. AO CMF is calling for applications and nominations.
Those who meet the criteria below may apply for this role requiring responsibility and leadership, or nominate colleagues who meet the selection prerequisites. Applications and nominations must be submitted between May 1, 2019 and July 31, 2019.
Prerequisites
The AO CMF Community Development Commission chair position is suited to highly motivated individuals of international professional repute and great professional drive.
The elected chair will lead the AO CMF Community Development Commission, overseeing and managing all community-building and online communication activities. Applicants are expected to have the vision to lead AO CMF Community Development and set new standards with the goal of positioning AO CMF as the leading membership organization in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery.
The elected chair will also act as the editor in chief of the AO CMF open-access journal, CMTR Open, with responsibility for its overall editorial strategy.
The successful candidate will become the AO CMF Community Development chair for a three-year term from July 2020 to June 2023, with the option of reelection to a second term.
Candidates for the position must be AO CMF members who fulfill the requirements provided in the job description. They must be willing to commit the necessary time and able to work in a multicultural environment without any travel restrictions.
Election process
Applications must be submitted to AO CMF between May 1, 2019 and July 31, 2019. These will then be handed to the AO CMF Community Development Nomination Committee (NomCom).
Applications of candidates who fulfill the prerequisites will be selected by the nomination committee and forwarded to the electorate.
The electorate comprises voting members of the AO CMF International Board and members of the AO CMF Community Development Commission and Web Editorial Group.
The "first past the post" election mechanism with multiple run-offs will be used. If a candidate achieves an absolute majority in any round, he/she will be the winner. The candidate with the least votes will eliminated at each round. Another round will be carried out if no candidate achieves an absolute majority.
This election will be conducted in December 2019. The result will be announced by end of January 2020, and the formal transition of leadership will take place in July 2020.

- the completed standard AO Officer application form
- a letter of intent (one page) that describes your top five priorities if you were to be the future Chairperson of the AO CMF R&D Commission
- signed AO Foundation Code of Ethics
