AO CMF Education Commission chair to be elected

AO CMF announces a call for applications and nominations for the post of the AO CMF Education Commission chair for the coming term.
The AO CMF Education Commission is a new governance body that will become active as of July 1, 2020. AO CMF is calling for applications and nominations for the chair position.
Those who meet the criteria listed below may apply for this role. This important position requires exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record in educational excellence. Applications and nominations must be submitted between December 18, 2019 and February 5, 2020.
Prerequisites
The AO CMF Education Commission chair position is suited for highly motivated individuals of international professional repute and great professional drive.
The elected chair will lead the AO CMF Education Commission, overseeing and managing all education-related activities in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery. Applicants are expected to have the vision to lead AO CMF education and set new standards with the goal of positioning AO CMF as the leading education provider in the field.
The successful candidate will become the AO CMF Education Commission chair for a three-year term from July 2020 to June 2023, with the option of reelection for a second term.
Candidates for the position must be AO CMF members who fulfill the requirements provided in the job description. They must be willing to commit the required time to the success of the Education Commission. Meanwhile, the ability to work in a multicultural environment without any travel restrictions is an absolute must.
Election process
Applications must be submitted to AO CMF between December 18, 2019 and February 5, 2020. These will then be handed to the AO CMF Education Commission Nomination Committee (NomCom).
Applications of candidates who fulfill the prerequisites will be selected by the NomCom and forwarded to the electorate.
The electorate comprises voting members of the AO CMF International Board (IB), voting members of the AO CMF Global Education Taskforce (GETAF) and active AO CMF faculty who have completed AO Regional Educator Training (RET).
The "first past the post" election mechanism with multiple runoffs will be used. If a candidate achieves an absolute majority in any round, she/he will be the winner. The candidate with the least votes will be eliminated at each round. Another round will be carried out if no candidate achieves an absolute majority.
This election will be conducted in March 2020. The result will be announced by end of March 2020.

Applicants who fulfill the requirements provided in the job description and who submit the following documents will be considered for election:
- A current curriculum vitae (CV)
- The completed standard AO officer application form
- A one-page letter of intent describing the candidate’s top five priorities if elected as AO CMF Education Commission chair
- Signed AO Foundation Code of Ethics
