AO CMF Education Commission member representing Asia Pacific to be elected

AO CMF announces a call for applications and nominations for the post of the AO CMF Education Commission member representing Asia Pacific for the coming term.
The AO CMF Education Commission is a new governance body that became active as of July 1, 2020. AO CMF is calling for applications for the member position representing Asia Pacific.
Those who meet the criteria listed below may apply for this role.
This important position requires exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record in educational excellence. Applications and nominations must be submitted by May 2, 2021.
The AO CMF Education Commission member position representing Asia Pacific is suited for highly motivated individuals of regional repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition.
The candidate must be a resident of an Asia Pacific country. The successful applicant will be a member of the AO CMF Education Commission and contribute to all its activities. He/she is expected to have the vision to contribute to AO CMF and to help set new standards to position AO CMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.
He/she must also be a good communicator, with excellent skills in English. The candidate is expected to have the vision to lead and contribute to the development of new AO CMF educational offerings and quality approved curricula, identifying future opportunities of education considering national, regional, and worldwide educational needs in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery.
The successful candidate will become the new member of the AO CMF Education Commission representing Asia Pacific for a three-year term (July 2021 to June 2024), with the option of reelection for a second term.
Candidates for the position must be AO CMF members who fulfill the requirements provided in the job description. They must be willing to commit the required time to ensure the success of the Education Commission. Meanwhile, the ability to work in a multicultural environment without any travel restrictions is an absolute must.
Applications must be submitted to AO CMF by May 2, 2021. These will then be handed to the AO CMF Education Commission Nominating Committee (NomCom).
Applications of candidates who are selected by the NomCom will be forwarded to the electorate.
The electorate comprises voting members of the AO CMF Education Commission, voting members of the AO CMF Education Commission, voting members of the AO CMF Asia Pacific Board and active AO CMF faculty from Asia Pacific who have completed an AO Regional Educator Training (RET).
The "first past the post" election mechanism with multiple runoffs will be used. If a candidate achieves an absolute majority in any round, he/she will be the winner. The candidate with the least votes will be eliminated at each round. Another round will be carried out if no candidate achieves an absolute majority.
This election will be conducted in May and June 2021. The result will be announced by the end of June 2021 at the latest.

Applicants who fulfill the requirements provided in the job description and who submit the following documents will be considered for election:
- A current curriculum vitae (CV)
- The completed Standard PDF AO officer application form
- A one-page letter of intent describing the candidate’s top five priorities if elected as AO CMF Education Commission member representing Asia Pacific
- Signed AO Foundation Code of Ethics
