AOCMF R&D Governance Structure

The AOCMF Research & Development Commission emerged from the former AOCMF R&D Committee, which was established by the AOCMF Specialty Board at its meeting in Frankfurt in May 2006.  It is a commission subordinated to the AOCMF Specialty Board.

The AOCMF Research & Development Commission has the following functions and duties:

  • Define the AOCMF R&D focus and priorities based on identified relevant clinical problems
  • Advise the AOCMF SpB on matters related to research and development¬†
  • Support AOCMF R&D budget planning (within framework defined by AOCMF SpB)
  • Submit AOCMF R&D budget to AOCMF SpB for approval
  • Coordinate R&D within and outside AOCMF
  • Function as entrance door and coordination for R&D related issues of AOCMF community members
  • Supervise and monitor AOCMF R&D projects (milestones and budget)
  • Define Peer Review process (combined effort with other Specialties and entities)
  • Review of applications for new projects and extensions in accordance to the defined peer review process

The commission is composed of:

  • Chairperson AOCMF TK
  • AOCMF representative within AORF
  • AOCMF representative within CID Committee
  • AOCMF representative within AcC
  • AOCMF representative within AOERB
  • Chairperson AOCMF SpB
  • Executive Director AOCMF (or AOCMF R&D Manager)
