Calls for Chair and Board Members (Country Representative Saudi Arabia and Pakistan).

AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa announces the call for applications for the following Country Representative positions on the AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board:

  • Chair
  • Country Representative Saudi Arabia
  • Country Representative Pakistan

Call for Applications: AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board Chair

The term of office of the current Middle East and Northern Africa Chair Bader Alhashmi will come to an end on December 31, 2018. AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa is looking for a Chair and will begin the election process for this position in November 2017. Potential candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for this position, the candidate must fulfill the requirements provided in the Role_Profile_MENA_Chair.pdfJob description.

The candidate should be a highly motivated individual of international repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition regionally and globally. The successful applicant will lead the AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board to oversee and manage all activities of the board. The applicant must be able to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions. He/she should have a good regional and international reputation, strong personal relationships, and be recognized as a regional leader. He/she must also be a good communicator, with excellent skills in English. The successful candidate is expected to have the vision to lead and contribute to AOCMF, and help set new standards that position AOCMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.

The successful candidate will become the Chair of the AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board for a three-and-a-half-year term (from January 2019 to June 2022). In the role of chair, the person will be accountable to the AOCMF Regional Board and the AOCMF International Board and coordinate all functions, budgets, and activities of the AOCMF International Board regionally, ensuring that the objectives of the AOCMF Regional Board are achieved.

Election process

Applications must be submitted to AOCMF by November 30, 2017. These will then be handed to the Nomination Committee. The Nomination Committee will review all applications and select the candidates who fulfil the pre-requisites by end of January 2018.

A maximum of two rounds (run-offs) will be conducted. In the first run-off, either the candidate with an absolute majority (50% plus 1 valid votes) is chosen. Or, should no candidate achieve an absolute majority, only the two candidates with the most votes will qualify for the second run-off. The second and last round will then require an absolute majority.

This process will be completed with formal approval of the new or re-elected chair at the AOCMF International Board meeting in March 2018.

The name of the elected chair will be announced by early April 2018. He/she is expected to assume the post in January 2019.

AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa announces the call for applications for the Country Representative from Saudi Arabia on the AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board. The application period for the post will close by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.

The second term of office of the current Middle East and Northern Africa Board Member, Hamed Al-Bargi (Saudi Arabia), will come to an end in June 2018. Therefore, AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa will begin the election process for this position in November 2017. Potential candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.

The AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board position has been created for highly-motivated individuals of professional repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition, both within the country of practice and the Middle East and Northern Africa region.

The elected member should be a resident of Saudi Arabia and be prepared to work in a multicultural environment with preferably no travel restrictions within the region. He/she is expected to have the vision to contribute to the global AOCMF community, and help the regional organization to set new standards in positioning AOCMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.

The successful candidate will become a member of the AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa Board for a three-and-a-half-year term (from July 2018 to June 2021). In her/his role, she/he will oversee all board activities for AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa, with a special focus on her/his individual territory.

Therefore, AOCMF Middle East and Northern Africa will begin the election process for this position in November 2017. Potential candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.
