Four open positions: call for applications and nominations from four countries

Call for Applications

The tenure of the current Asia Pacific Board Members: Gopal Krishnan (India), Thai-Er Wong (Malaysia), Ee Cherk Cheong (Singapore), and Chumpot Itthichaisri (Thailand), will soon draw to a close. Hence, AOCMF Asia Pacific announces the opening of the nominations and applications for these four board positions from the respective countries.

If you are interested and fit the criteria mentioned below, you may apply for one of these leadership positions. You may also nominate a colleague who meets the selection pre-requisites.

Please note: your applications or nominations must be submitted by November 20, 2017.

Prerequisites

AOCMF Asia Pacific Board positions have been created for highly motivated individuals of professional repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition, both within the country of practice and that of residence in the Asia Pacific region.

The elected members should be prepared to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions within the Asia Pacific. They are expected to have the vision to contribute to the global AOCMF community, and help the regional organization to set new standards in order to position AOCMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.

The successful candidates will become members of the AOCMF Asia Pacific Board for a three-year term (from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021). In their roles, they will oversee all board activities of AOCMF Asia Pacific with a special focus on their individual territory.

To apply for these positions, candidates must fulfill the requirements provided in the Job-Description_AOCMF_AP_Board-Member.pdfJob Description, and be an AOCMF Member.

Election process

Applications must be submitted to AOCMF before November 20, 2017. These will then be handed to the Nomination Committee.

The Nomination Committee will review all applications and select the candidates who fulfill the pre-requisites in early March 2018.

The 'first-past-the-post' election mechanism with two rounds (run-offs) will be used. Then, the members of the Asia Pacific Board will vote. The first run-off shall only retain the two candidates with maximum votes. The second and last round will then require an absolute majority.

This elections will be conducted by electronic voting in March 2018, and the results will be announced by end of April 2018.

The handover will take place in July 2018.
